Kandy got a last minute/day offer for 2 seats!! So her single standing ticket went to a friend and we bundled up for the cold. This lovely family was kind enough to pose for a photo

This is the Kennedy clan - in case you didn't notice.

Some people were more dressed up

than others - who were on horse back

Everyone was doing their best to stay orderly and in line

Kandy was pretty excited to be there:

While others were happy to be watching from distant balconies

or even tents (CNN) from across the border

Some of you already know we spotted Jersey's own Bruce Springsteen
sitting several rows BEHIND us:

Patti was with him:

Kandy walked around behind him so she could fulfill a life long dream -
to be photographed with the boss.

We saw the presentation of the colors:

Heard Aretha sing up a storm:

We saw (and heard) Biden yelling in:

And the Big O (sort of) swearing in:

When you listen

you can notice the stumbles - but no one cared.

I walked the aisles during Obama's speech to get a little closer:

Yes, I know there is a hair somewhere - but I couldn't find it to remove it. Grr.

Everyone stood during the important stuff:

We also had a last day (or 2) addition to our dance card -
So we got to attend the historic, nationally televised, open to the public Neighborhood Ball:

The ball was fun, but crowded and lots of people had cameras.

Christo was shown on TV on ABC about 2 minutes into mary j blige's song

Beyonce sang "At Last" for the President's FIRST first dance:

As we wandered around we noticed Marion Barry - (aka Mayor for Life):

These young ladies didn't seem to care:

From there we metroed over the union station for the peace ball,
where we caught up with Joan Baez:

and danced to Micheal Franti - one of our favorites peaceniks

I think this may have been the lesbian ball - according to these pink ladies of Code Pink:

There was dancing on tables - at least until security showed up
